Basic Science

The Department of Basic Science was started in the year 2011 with an intake of 300 seats and affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur.Also since 2017 First Year is affiliated to DBATU Lonere University.The Department of Basic Science plays a major role in equipping first year engineering students to take their core program education. The English Language Laboratory provides students in improving their linguistic skills along with necessary soft skills required for corporate. The department has Chemistry Laboratory. Chemistry is the branch of science that deals with the study of composition and properties of matter. It is relevant to every walk of life. Physics Laboratory,which is part and parcel in applied sciences, has been set by Department. Physics is therefore indispensable for engineering students to excel in their fields.By providing faculty mentors special care is being taken along with attention on individual student.

Establishment of Department: 2011-2012

The educational objectives of Basic Sciences are designed to encourage clarity of concepts of Applied Sciences and to encourage understanding of application of applied sciences. The graduates shall :

  • To lay strong foundation at the first year stage so that the grasp of engineering streams becomes easily accessible.
  • To improve communication skills of students as per the industrial needs.
  • To understand applications of basic science, so that technology and their  advancements can be understood and applied
  • To build an ability to understand and interpret the impact of engineering solution for society.
